Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon) is a beautiful island nation situated south of India in the Indian Ocean. It is a land of green tea, rich culture, and traditions with diverse, landscapes ranging from the rainforest and arid plains to hills and sandy beaches. It is also famous for its ancient Buddhist ruins, the 5th-century old fortress, with its palace and frescoes. The city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s ancient capital has many ruins dating back more than 2,000 years.

Though Sri Lanka is a small country, it offers diverse nature, culture and adventure hot spots within the Island country so that every single traveler can explore and experience the amazing diversities. It is a most favored leading tourist destination in South Asia.
Colombo is the capital city and modern hub showcasing urbane life. In the city, we can find some prominent forts and buildings of the colonial era.

In Polonnaruwa, we will find the ancient ruins of palaces and friezes including twelve century old stone sculptures of Buddha. Three statues of the Buddha, one sitting, one standing and the last reclining are the most revered monuments in Sri Lanka. There are many places worth visiting in Sri Lanka such as Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage Sanctuary, Nuwara Eliya, Hakgala Botanical Gardens, Kandy, and Sigiriya. A 1500-year-old painted fresco located at the top of a spiral staircase has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
