Overview

If you are traveling with children or first-time visitors, nature lovers, honeymooners or those are interested in learning River kayaking, we recommend you Seti River for short rafting trip in Nepal. It is one of the most beautiful and pristine rivers. You will get lots of fun while rafting in several rapids. It passes through two beautiful and contrasting scenic spots that give a good variety of Nepal’s landscapes with local villages, terraced rice fields, waterfalls, suspension bridges, jungle rich with wildlife and a beautiful white sandy beach. Seti River Rafting is a popular choice for winter trips and also for kayak clinics for the beginners. After completing the rafting adventure trip, you have a choice either to get back to Kathmandu or continue a journey to visit Chitwan National Park or go for trekking in the popular area of Annapurna region for a few days.

From Kathmandu it is 5 hours’ drive to reach Damauli bazaar, river put in point and begins rafting.  The distance we cover during rafting is about 35 km and we can enjoy rafting adventure for 2 days. March-April and October are considered to be the best time for Seti River Rafting.

Itinerary:

  • Arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport where you will be welcomed by Trek Himalayan representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free until evening when you’ll be briefed about rafting followed by welcome drinks .Overnight in Kathmandu

  • Your guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning to begin your city tour of Kathmandu. You will visit the Boudhanath temple, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, Pashupatinath, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and possibly view cremation ceremonies along the banks of the Bagmati River. Continue drive to Patan Durbar Square to see the ancient Nepalese architecture and end your tour after lunch. Then, you will visit the Patan museum. Overnight in Kathmandu

  • We leave Kathmandu in the early morning and drive to Damauli, river put in point. After the rafts are rigged we will set off down the Seti Khola. We spend the whole day within its forested canyon. The luxuriant vegetation we see is a remnant of the vast forested area, which once covered the middle hills of Nepal.
Traveling by rafts is a perfect way to view undisturbed wildlife. When we stop for lunch we have time to explore, Photograph, birdwatcher, swim or relax. Later in the afternoon we encounter a small but technical rapid near the village of Saranghat inhabited by Magars, who are renowned for generations in the British army. Saranghat, is a colorful village. Our first night we will set up camp on a spacious beach below the village

  • After we have finished breakfast and repacked the raft, we will set off down river. Later we encounter the technical rapid grade 3 shortly after the rapid we leave Seti Khola and enter Trisuli River. Here the middle hills recede and the Terai plain opens before us. The topography has changed dramatically. The twisted severe rock formations give away to sandstone and gavel deposited by antecedent rivers. This is where we end our trip. After lunch drive back to Kathmandu
