Pikey Peak Cultural & Spiritual Trek begins with a scenic flight to Phaplu and passes through Salleri, Loding Sherpa village to ascend to Pikey Peak and return to Phaplu via Sinsari Danda to take the flight back to Kathmandu.
This trek is named after a sacred and holy Pike Peak one of the best view point in Everest regin where you can see 90% mountain panoramic view Nepal. New trek into the heart of the Solu Khumbu, a region little visited by tourists. This camping trek takes us off the beaten track though pretty Sherpa villages and beautifully terraced hillsides to the highpoint of the trek: Pikey Danda (4065m). The views from the top are stunning as Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar and Shishapangma fill the skyline and we can even see as far west as the Annapurnas. In this region we will gain a real insight into the Sherpa way of life as we walk through relatively untouched villages. We also visit Thupten Choling Monastery, which was founded in the 1960s by the Rinpoche from Rongbuk Monastery in Tibet. Crossing the Singsing La with yet more breathtaking views we complete this wonderful cultural circuit
Arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport where you will be welcomed by Trek Himalayan representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free until evening when you’ll enjoy a welcome drinks with your guide and introduce each other. Overnight in Kathmandu
Your guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning to begin your city tour of Kathmandu. You will visit the Boudhanath temple, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, Pashupatinath, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and possibly view cremation ceremonies along the banks of the Bagmati River. Continue drive to Patan Durbar Square to see the ancient Nepalese architecture and end your tour after lunch.Then, you will visit the Patan museum. Overnight in Kathmandu
This flight will take 35 minutes. Trek from Phaplu to Salleri (2390 m). This hike will take 4 to 5 hours. You can see the local market in Salleri and enjoy a visit to local Chewang monastery. Stay overnight at Camp.
From Salleri the trail climbs gently turn left and continues through fields of barley, wheat & corn to the sprawling Loding village which is predominantly inhabited by Sherpa community. During your stay you can visit a popular Buddhist monastery in middle of the village. From this village you can see different ethnic group living in village
The trail climbs steeply up the ridge and begins to contour northward towards the Pikey hill. After passing through a large silver birches, the trail reaches open meadow at 3430m. This open grazing area is used by herders in the summer. You will enjoy glimpses of the top of some snow peaks on the way up. You will also see planes bound for Lukla fly very low over the Pikey hill. Overnight at Camp at Pikey Base camp
