Overview

Khopra Ridge Trek is one of the newly explored short trekking routes in the Annapurna region. This trekking route is located away from busier and crowded trails of Jomsom- Muktinath and Annapurna Circuit.  However, one can enjoy the same remarkable views of the Himalayas that include Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, and Annapurna south, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Himchuli and many other peaks during the trek.

This trek also encompasses one of the mesmerizing viewpointsfk called Poon hill which is the greatest place to observe a breathtaking sunrise view over the Himalayas. During this trek, you will surely feel a life-changing experience while having the best time with the local people and their absolutely amazing hospitality. Besides, you would be surprised at having an opportunity to explore the local culture and beauty of nature in the Himalayas. After enjoying the sunrise view from Poonhill, you will return to Pokhara passing through the largest Gurung village of Ghandruk along the way.

The Khopra Danda (Ridge)Trekking begins from Kathmandu after 6 hours scenic drive to Pokhara. Next day morning after 1 hour another scenic drive from Pokhara you will reach  Nayapul. From Nayapul onward your trek officially begins following the trail of a  beautiful Kaligandaki river valley past the Magar and Gurung villages to up hills. After Tadapani the trail leads us along the Rhododendron forest and stay overnight at the local community lodge at Gurung village. Khopra Ridge Trek would be very suitable for those who really want to enjoy the delightful unique culture and an amazing view of the Annapurna Mountains in Nepal within a short period of time.   • Nepal is a land of ancient history, colorful cultures and multi- religions found nowhere else on the planet! There are many festivals and cultural events celebrated throughout the year in the various regions by different Nepalese ethnic groups who follow their own way of religious practice, lifestyle, language, culture, and tradition keeping peace and harmony in society.
  • Trekking can be organized for few days to few weeks long, depending on trekkers interest, strength and time frame. Walking could be twelve kilometers or just four kilometers a day and spend the night in the countryside lodge or camp.
  • Annapurna region is easily accessible by road and walking trails, hotels and lodges with food are available in plenty. One can choose many options to reach the region either by taking land transport directly from Kathmandu to Pokhara or flight or 4- wheel drive from Pokhara to Jomsom and Muktinath and overland journey to Beshishar to begin trekking and climbing.
  • Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduction of your trek guide and porters.
  • In Kathmandu, we can provide any category of hotels you want as per your interest and budget and during the trekking, we provide you Tea house (lodge). Tea Houses are more like hotels, with hot showers, western food, and private rooms (twin sharing). In our trekking trip we make overnight stay at tea-houses with dinner and breakfast and lunches in local restaurants en-route. Furthermore as you will be staying in locally owned lodges you will be benefiting and interacting with the local community. It will give you a true feel for the Nepalese people and their lives.
  • You have to choose from the menu and pay by yourself. Freshly cooked food is served in tea house (lodge). Generally, western, continental and Nepali meals are available in all places.
  • It is not necessary; you have to join with group. Please follow our group departure date because we organize private trip departures everyday upon client’s request and requirements. You can move at your own pace and set your own schedule by not being in group.
  • Yes, in most of the places, you can charge batteries along the trek (it may cost you extra at some of the lodge/tea-house).
