.
Along with meditation you will also enjoy magnificent views of Mount Everest as well as many other highest peaks of the world located in the Himalayan Range of Eastern Nepal, such as Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Gaurishanker etc. You’ll also have opportunities to interact with the Sherpa people and learn about their way of life, culture and religion.
Above all, you’ll take part in religious rituals (pujas) with monks and nuns of the local monasteries, and get teachings about the Four Noble Truth and other precept of Buddhism.

  • Early morning wake up and take an overland drive from Kathmandu to Jiri (1905) in a local bus. The distance is about 188 km and takes about eight hours driving through the Swiss-built road to Jiri. The road is not that wide but it is very smooth. Jiri is a small town named after Jirel, the ethnic people who live in and around the town. It is home to around 16000 population. If you arrive in Jiri in time, you may take a local jeep from Jiri and reach Shivalaya in the evening. Overnight at Camp

  • There are 2 options either you start trek from Jiri to Deurali or do jeep ride from Shivalaya to Bhandar depending on the availability of local transport and your interest. Last stop for scheduled Jeep is Bhandar,
but the road goes down to the river and is almost complete to Kenja. From July to September, the road after Jiri may be in a horrible situation due to the monsoon season. Probably none of the vehicles you will find to travel to Bhandar during this time. Overnight at Camp

Right before you reach to Kinja you cross a few suspension bridges on the way. Here you need to register your TIMS cards before you proceed to Sete. From Kenja it is about 4 hours steeply uphill climb to Sete and an ascent of about 1000m. You need to keep a decently steady pace until you reach Sete. Overnight at Camp

  • Climb to Lamjura pass through the forest of oak and rhododendron. The first part of the climb is quite steep. You will be rewarded with frost and often snow along the trail in winter and with rhododendrons in the spring. From the top of the pass, you will descend to Tragdobuk at 2860m, then to the pretty Sherpa village of Junbesi. Here you can visit a high school built by the late Sir Edmund Hillary.
