Overview

Tenzing Hillary Trail, for those adventurers wanting to step back in time, and become one with the majesty of the Himalaya, this long and challenging trek is highly recommended. This outstanding trek follows the classic trekking route used by the late Sir Edmund Hillary and late Tenzing Norgay for their approach to Mt. Everest in 1953. Starting with a scenic eight hour drive to Jiri and begin the trek  to Everest Base Camp at Shivalaya  through lush low lands and alpine forests, Buddhist monasteries, and the authentic Sherpa Villages of the lower Solukhumbu. If you need to get away and unplug, this is the best  trip ever  for you. You will  cross through the Lamjura  High Mountain Pass while enjoying the excellent views of towering snowcapped peaks in the distance. Each evening you will stay at lodge along the route.

Reaching the Dudh Kosi River, you will walk  beneath the airfield at Lukla and continue  your journey heading northwards to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to one of the most remarkable high mountain landscapes on earth. After long days of  walking you will  spend one extra day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and rest. Then you will continue your trek to the monastery village of Tengboche and other interesting villages  such as Dingboche Lobuche Gorak Shep until you reach Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar. From Gorak Shep you will  hike along the Khumbu Glacier to Everest Base camp and next morning  climb to the top of Kala Patar, to enjoy  the best Everest views.

Tenzing Hillary Trail
provides a good  opportunity to explore the socio – life of the Himalayan  Sherpa people along with their religion, customs and tradition. Alluring birds like the golden eagle, snow pigeon, red-billed and yellow-billed birds fill the skies and exotic flowers like rhododendron, blue pine, magnolias, chir pine, hemlock and juniper make the trekking a wonderful experience. After you walk down to  Namche Bazaar you will  follow the same  trail up  to Lukla. Usually this part of the trail  between Namche Bazaar and Lukla  is  considered crowded, however, after so much time on a quiet trail in the Khumbu region, encountering fellow travelers from around the world will be pleasant and enjoyable moment for you..
