Dolakha and Rolwaling region lies in the east central part of Nepal close to the Tibet border. As compared to other popular regions of Nepal, it is a nontouristic and less crowded one that provides an experience of the remoteness, one can enjoy mountain views, varieties of flora and fauna and rich local cultures and traditions.

Rolwaling region has a cluster of trekking peaks above 6000m in altitude. Trekking and peak climbing trip to this region requires a good walking experience and one should be in a good physical shape. The panoramic view of  Mount Gaurishankar (7,145m), Mount Melungtse (7,181m) and other mountains, a beautiful landscape; the hidden valley, the ancient villages of Beding and Na,  Buddhist monastery, Tso Rolpa lake are the major attractions of the  Rolwaling region. Many trekkers and climbers set foot on this region after crossing over Tashi Lapsa Pass, the most difficult high pass on the route. The normal route to trekking and peak climbing is through the glaciers of North-East flank which is straightforward. From the top of the peaks, one can enjoy the unmatched panorama of the Himalayas ranging from Everest to Langtang and undeniably of Mount Gaurishankar—one of the most spectacular peaks in the entire Himalayas of Nepal.

The best and most suitable time to attempt any trekking Peaks in the  Rolwaling region is during spring (March to early June) and autumn (September to November). The spring climbing season also happens to coincide with Everest climbing, so along the way you likely encounter many expedition teams heading for the Everest from the Khumbu area during the months of April and May.
