Manaslu Region is considered one of the off the beaten trails for challenging treks and peak climbing in Nepal. It was just opened in the early 90s to the foreign visitors. Trekking and peak climbing in this isolated area has been extremely popular among the adventure seekers for the last few years.

This region is geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating. The views of Mount Manaslu and other nearby peaks are truly mesmerizing from Larkya La Pass. Most of the trekking trails pass through anĀ  area of strong Tibetan influence. The people of Upper Budhi Gandaki area are called as Nupri, who claim themselves as direct descendants from Tibet.

The journey begins in the Gandaki River valley walking through the rocky landscape. In Samagoan (3450m) we explore the green lake of Birendra formed by melted glacier, before crossing over Samdo, adjacent to Nepal Tibet border. Here, you will find Buddhist monasteries with Tibetan monks engaged in religious rituals. The biggest challenge is to cross the snow- bound Larkya La pass (5213m). Then, you will move ahead through tropical areas, bursting with ferns, bamboo, pine trees, waterfalls and aqua-blue green lakes laced with cotton-white beaches

Major highlights of the Manaslu region are; alluring landscapes, the incredible view of Himalayan panorama, mighty mountains like Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal Range, Sringi Himal, Larky Peak, Ratna Chuli, Cheo Himal, Kangaroo Himal, dense forests of Rhododendron, blue pine, and bamboo teemed with verities of wildlife, beautiful waterfalls, Sama Gaun in the lap of Mount Manaslu, ancient Buddhist Monasteries, uncountable Mani Walls (stone slates engraved with mantras), chorten or stupas and Kanis along the trails (round religious structures in Tibetan Buddhism often housing relics and surrounded by prayer mills) attracts you with hiking and exploring enthusiasm.
