Lobuje East Peak is one of the popular trekking peaks in the Everest region. It has two major peaks called   Lobuje East (6,119 m/20,070 ft) and Lobuje West (6,145 m/20,161 ft) connected to each other in spite of having a sharp gap and a considerable distance between them. Lobuje East is a beautiful peak It has a variety of existing routes to the summit.  From the top of the peak, one can enjoy the fantastic views of the Himalayan Mountains Range like Mt. Everest. Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Tawache and many other peaks. Very few climbers have attempted to reach the summit till date. Good weather conditions and a dawn or pre-dawn start are the major factors to climb and summit successfully. In fact, the entire climb is not steep, but there are areas of difficult seracs that require two axes, front pointing and belaying. The ridge route is sometimes easier. Many climbers who follow this route stop at the top of the ridge, assuming that this is the false summit of Lobuche East Peak. However, a continuation on the knife-edged ridge is required to reach the false summit. The true summit of Lobuche East Peak is thought to be, at first, unattainable, but the Swiss Expedition group first climbed Lobuche East Peak in 1952. Subsequent attempts fell short of the summit, finally climbed in 1984.

The best time to climb Lobuche East peak is between March to May and October to December. In fact, Lobuje East Peak climbing is an adventure of a lifetime for every trekker in Nepal.

We continue following the trail to Ganja La climbing steeply through moraine. We leave Ganja La trail to climb steeply up yet more moraine to reach the eastern end of the glacier beneath the northeast face of Naya Kanga (Ganja La). We set up the high camp here for the ascent. We cross the glacier shelf to the foot of a shallow couloir heading to the north ridge. We climb the couloir to the notch and the base of the ridge. Then, we turn to the ice nose on the left, which is only the technical section of the climb. Now the ridge widens and leads to a small col. on the east-west summit ridge. The summit is only 30 m higher to the right. The climb near the summit should be done carefully. Normally, the ascent takes 5-7 hours from the high camp. For the return trek, we may follow Ganja La-Helambu route or Syabru Besi.

Mera Peak Climbing

Mera peak is located at the edge of the Khumbu region, southeast of Everest, the trekking route for Mera Peak Climbing is via the excessively beautiful Hinku valley. The unspoiled and uninhabited valley is one of the wildest and most beautiful in Nepal with massive moraines, glacial lakes, and stunning mountain views.

There are many approaches to Mera; some are easy and some require the crossing of high and difficult passes. The climbing of Mera Peak has become more popular each year due to the extraordinary scenery it offers and also because previous mountaineering experience is not required.

This is the highest trekking peak (6654 meters) allowed for climbing in Nepal. However it also one of the least demanding technical climbs. Being such a high mountain, the climb is in a true sense a challenging one, but the slopes rarely exceed 30 degrees and the climbing is straightforward.

Similar to all the treks and climbing trips to Everest, trekking route to Mera starts with a scenic mountain flight to Lukla. From Lukla we ascend uphill slowly to the eastward, crossing the Zatra La pass and finally we reach the Mera La pass on the ninth day where we set up our base camp to summit Mera peak. Climbing Mera Peak is possible in a single day from the base camp but we avoid such a rush for safety reason. We will allow one day for proper rest and acclimatization and make use of a high camp to ensure 100 % success. Finally, we ascend the three summits of Mera from where we would enjoy a stunning summit panorama that includes 5 of the world’s 8000 m peaks such as Mt.Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyo. Makalu and, Kangchenjunga. Good weather and snow conditions are the major factors for safety and successful summit. The west and south faces of the peak are considered to be difficult technical routes. If favorable weather condition prevails, it is possible to summit the peak and descend back to the base camp on the same day.

Gosaikunda Lake Trek

Thousands of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims from different parts of Nepal and India visit Gosaikunda Lake every year especially on full moon day of August also called in Nepali ‘ Janai Purnima festival ‘.  According to Hindu mythology, it says that Gosaikunda Lake is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva when He thrust his Trishul (holy Trident) into a mountain to extract water in order to cool his stinging throat after he had swallowed poison. There are 108 lakes clustered around the area but mainly Saraswati lake, Bhairab lake, Surya lake and Gosaikunda lake are the most popular and visible from the trekking routes.

We begin our Gosaikunda Lake Trek by a local bus from Kathmandu up to the trek starting point– Dunche. We drive through Trishuli Bazaar and then continue uphill mountain road until we reach Dunche. After spending a night at tea house in Dunche we start our first day of Gosaikunda Lake Trek climbing more steeply through farmland, walking through rhododendron, oak, bamboo forests and above the tree line along the alpine ridge.

While our Gosaikunda Lake Trek, we enjoy the panoramic view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna, Langtang Lirung , Ganesh Himal , Dorje Lhakpa peaks until we reach a rocky bowl studded with scared high altitude lakes. At the same time while trekking, we get to know the local community and experience their unique culture and lifestyle. The permanent inhabitants of Gosaikunda area are Tamang and Sherpa, whose ancestry has been traced back to Tibet. Tibet Everest Base Camp Trek

Tibet Everest Base Camp is one of the popular treks in Tibet and most of the time the trail passes through a plateau over 4300m and crosses over one pass called Nam-la 5300m. So, this trekking route is really difficult one on a high altitude. However, because of the high-altitude, it offers splendid views of the north face of Everest and other snowy mountain peaks around. Tibet Everest base camp trek would be a lifetime for those who want to experience the Tibetan amazing culture, rolling hills, ancient forts, artistic ornate monasteries, centuries old caravan routes, breathtaking scenery and much more. Everest Base Camp trek can be done from April to late October.

Trekking in Everest Base Camp involves two days of sightseeing in Lhasa followed by a long drive across the ancient towns of Gyantse and Shigatse en route. The trekking trail begins from the plains of Tingri and swings southward following the Ra-Chu Valley, a region which is used by herders for grazing and their livestock.

After Nepal’s 2015 devastating earthquake the overland Tibet-Nepal border has remained closed at this time. So, the only option to do Everest Base Camp trek is to begin the journey with the flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa and return to Kathmandu from Lhasa. In Lhasa we spend 3 nights, staying right in the center of the old city. It will allow us plenty of time for acclimatization and easy access to the city’s main attractions – the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. In Lhasa, we will visit the famous Potala palace, residence of the Dalai Lama, Norbulingka, the great Drepung Monastery and the holy Jokhang Temple. Then we walk around the Tibetan market – the bustling Barkhor Bazaar.

Leaving Lhasa we will drive passing through the beautiful Turquoise lake on the way to the historic town of Gyantse with its unique multi-storied Kumbum Stupa. From Gyantse, we make a scenic drive to Shigatse (1.5hrs) through the typical Tibetan countryside. At Shigatse, we walk past the massive Tashilungpo monastery and visit the memorial ‘Chorten’ of the late Panchen Lama. Then we further make a scenic drive to Rongbuk via Xegar. From Rongbuk, we hike up to Everest BC and explore around and back to Rongbuk. The Same day we drive to Shigatse and next day we take a flight back from Lhasa to Kathmandu.
